the academy bestowed the john fernandes strategic leadership award upon dr. george najjar, formerly the dean of the olayan school of business, american university of beirut, and the current provost of the lebanese american university, at its october, 2012, meeting in las vegas.


the academy bestowed accreditation upon the school of global leadership and entrepreneurship, regent university, april 5, 2012, at its spring meeting in new orleans.

the academy is a private, non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the state of north carolina and governed by a board of directors made up of leadership and entrepreneurship specialists.

our mission, more fully described in a link to the right, is to recognize high quality baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degree programs in leadership or in entrepreneurship through a formal process of accreditation.

the academy was organized as the academy of strategic and organizational leadership in 1997, when its board of directors recognized the need for a process to formally recognize high quality leadership programs through accreditation. in january, 2012, the board recognized the need for a process to recognize high quality entrepreneurship programs, as well, and the name of the organization was changed to the academy of strategic and entrepreneurial leadership, and its present mission was adopted.

the academy also provides recognition opportunities for faculty members in leadership and entrepreneurship programs. find the link to the right for more information about these services.
